Overview

In this role you support a SNSF-funded project on global taxation, profit shifting, and tax havens. You will work with linked Swiss administrative data to generate causal evidence and policy insights. You collaborate within a strong research team at ETH Zurich to analyze micro-level data and produce materials for presentation. You contribute to shaping empirical analyses and workshops, driving rigorous, policy-relevant research. Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Prepare and analyze micro-level data underlying the project questions
  • Manage linked datasets (cleaning, merging, quality checks)
  • Conduct descriptive analyses of administrative and survey data
  • Run guided empirical analyses using reduced-form causal inference methods
  • Prepare presentation slides and research materials
  • Assist in organizing an academic workshop

Zentrale Anforderungen

  • Completed master's degree in economics, political science, or other quantitative social science
  • Strong interest in policy-relevant taxation and public economics
  • Reliable, structured, precise working style
  • Good planning and coordination skills
  • Curious, self-motivated with ownership over work
  • Solid foundations in causal inference methods (e.g., diff-in-diff, IV, randomized experiments)
  • Proficiency in Stata and/or R
  • German and English proficiency; strong writing in English and German
  • Interest in applied scientific research; PhD later is a plus but not required
  • Experience with large-scale data cleaning is a plus
