Overview
In this role you will build and steward industrial partnerships and lead research funding activities for the Soft Robotics Lab. You will work closely with the professor and researchers to secure long-term funding and manage funded projects. You will champion collaborations with companies, coordinate grant proposals, and ensure smooth project administration. This position offers ownership over partnerships and funding lines, with impact on the lab’s stability and research scope.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Build and maintain research partnerships with companies from first contact to signed agreements
- Drive grant acquisition across SNSF, Horizon Europe, and foundations
- Co-write and coordinate proposals including structuring, budgeting, and administrative sections
- Manage running projects: reporting, budgets, milestones, deliverables, and European consortia coordination
- Interface with ETH Research Contracts Group, ETH Transfer, Grants Office, and departmental controlling
- Coordinate activities across projects and maintain project documentation
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Doctorate in engineering or natural sciences, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience in business development, industry liaison, technology transfer, or corporate research collaborations
- Experience with competitive research funding (SNSF and European instruments)
- Ability to represent research credibly to corporate R&D teams
- Strong organizational skills with budget, deadline, and reporting discipline
- Fluent in English (writing and negotiation); German a plus
