What is this job about?

As a Database Engineer at EthonAI you will be responsible for the data layer of our software and with that lay the foundation to enable data intense operations. By advancing our data schemas, improving query performance and improving the database infrastructure you empower the company to further scale their operations and lay the foundation for tomorrow’s breakthrough. With your software engineering skills, you automate processes, ensure data integrity, and enhance the system’s performance.

Your Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize database schemas and infrastructure to support data-intensive operations and ensure scalability.

• Improve database performance and implement best practices for optimized database queries.

• Ensure high availability, reliability, and disaster recovery capabilities for critical database systems.

• Automate database migration, monitoring, and deployment processes to ensure efficient workflows and reduce manual overhead.

• Provide guidance with emerging database technologies and their deployment strategies.

Your Experience & Skills

• You hold an academic degree from a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. A Master\’s degree for recent graduates or a Bachelor\’s backed with real-world experience.

• You have worked with relational databases (eg: PostgresDB) and you are familiar with their setup.

• Knowledge of time-series databases like TimescaleDB is a plus.

• Working knowledge of running databases in Docker and Kubernetes.

• You have knowledge of Python to script and automate tasks.

• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
