Valuable work: your role with us
- As part of Directorate General Digital Euro, you will be responsible for developing central bank digital currency (CBDC) for the wholesale sector.
- Together with your team, you will develop innovative solutions and components for wholesale CBDC, helping to shape the digital transformation of payment systems.
- You will draft the Bundesbank’s strategic positions, bring these to the table and discuss them in the relevant Eurosystem project teams and committees.
- You will build up the operational capacity of your team and, in future, will be responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of around 30 to 40 members of staff.
- You will be part of the Directorate General’s agile leadership team and contribute to its strategic development.
Unique assets: your skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the position (e.g. information technology, mathematics, economics)
- Very good knowledge of payment systems and new technologies such as distributed ledger technologies (DLT)
- At least five years of experience in managing complex and, ideally, international projects in connection with digitalisation or payment systems
- A good understanding of developments in the fields of central banking and information technology
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by–ideally extensive–management experience
- Experience in establishing organisational units as well as in designing and managing change processes
- Stand-out skills as an agile leader and experience with agile methods
- Capacity to think strategically and act in a solutions-oriented manner, especially with regard to the management of complex projects and strategically significant processes in a dynamic environment
- Very good communication skills in English and, ideally, German; prior knowledge of German is not required, but willingness to learn is essential
