The Mittel- und Osteuropa(MOE) Scholarship from the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) supports Central and Eastern European university graduates from all disciplines on topics relevant to the environment to further their qualifications in Germany. The aim is to foster knowledge transfer in science, administration and practice, as well as international networking between environmental experts from all disciplines.
Applications are assessed twice per year. The next application deadline is on March 5, 2026.
What is funded
The Award provides monthly scholarships of 1,450 EUR, health, accident, and liability insurance.
Duration
Six to twelve months.
Applicants may have completed their master\’s degree within the past 5 years. Doctoral students can apply as long as the doctoral project is not completed until after the fellowship. Must have nationality and residence in one of the Central and Eastern European countries (CEE) of the call. The host institutions in Germany include universities, research institutes, companies, specialized authorities, NGOs, etc. An intensive German course in Osnabrück lasting several weeks before the stay at the host institution is offered. Sufficient knowledge of German must be proven to the host institution at the beginning of the stay.
The responsibility for the funding offers published on this website, including the funding description, lies entirely with the publishing institutions. The application is handled uniquely by the employer, who is also fully responsible for the recruitment and selection processes.
