The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is a young, up-and-coming university and the only technical university in the state of Brandenburg. BTU is a highly international university. With approximately 45% international students and 40% international doctoral students, more than 220 partner universities in 65 countries around the world, and numerous European and non-European research projects and teaching collaborations, internationalization plays an important role in the university\’s strategic development.
Since 2020, BTU has been part of the European University Alliance EUNICE (European University for Customised Education), a network of ten universities from ten European countries with a total of around 150,000 students. Responsibilities
Coordination and organization of the courses offered within the framework of the European University Networks (EUN) funded project âEUNICE 4Uâ at BTU as well as support in the further expansion of a joint course offering in the alliance, in particular:
- Preparation of development and optimization proposals for course development and course-related administrative processes at BTU, taking into account the objectives of the project
- Identification of internal university adjustment requirements and preparation of corresponding decision proposals
- Benchmarking with the respective regulations of the partner universities in the network and preparing the content of the results
- Participation in EUNICE working groups at Alliance level and within the BTU
- Monitoring European higher education policy and relevant developments in the European Education Area and communication within the university
- Advising lecturers on networking opportunities and supporting the further or new development of suitable courses
- Networking and representation of BTU as a member of the EUNICE alliance at home and abroad, participation in meetings and committee meetings at alliance level
- Organization of events (working meetings, workshops, general assemblies)
Your Skills
You have successfully completed a university degree (Master degree/university diploma/equivalent) in the field of higher education management, in a similarly suitable subject area or in a subject area represented at BTU, or have many years of relevant professional experience after an academic degree.
The following knowledge and/or experience is desirable:
- profound knowledge of academic rules and regulations, in particular with respect to admission and examination
- Basic knowledge of education management
- Experience in the organisation of teaching and curriculum development as well as the evaluation and quality management in higher education
- Good knowledge of administrative processes in the higher education sector, in particular the specifics of programme administration at BTU
- Work experience in the field of internationalisation at a university, in the academic sector, in public institutions or companies
- Experience in working independently with (international) partner institutions and networks
- very good written and spoken English skills
You possess strong communication and moderation skills, enjoy working in a team and are willing to go the extra mile. Your profile is rounded off by flexibility, independence and the ability to work under pressure.
