The applicant (m/f/d) should represent the field of Visual Computing in research and teaching. The aim is to attract a high-profile academic and to strengthen the faculty’s potential for third-party funding. The following areas of specialization are advantageous:
- Real-time Physics Simulation (e.g. GPU-based Fluid Dynamics)
- Efficient Data-driven Physics Simulation/Surrogate Models
- Data-driven 3D-Reconstruction or Graphical Asset Generation
- Efficient Visualization and Animation
The Institute of Computer Science and the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS) at the University of Würzburg offer good opportunities for joint research.
Teaching responsibilities include contributions to the bachelor’s and master’s programmes offered by the University of Würzburg’s Institute of Computer Science, particularly in the areas of ‘Games Engineering’ and ‘Computer Science & Sustainability’. The professorship is expected to be involved in setting up English-language master’s programmes in these areas.
