The Institute of Epidemiology (EPI) is examining the protective and harmful effects of the environment, genes, and lifestyle on human health and disease using population-based epidemiologic approaches. We are seeking a Research Scientist (f/m/x) in cardiometabolic disease epidemiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze data using R or SAS and contribute to the interpretation of results.
  • Write scientific reports and papers in the field of cardiometabolic disease epidemiology.
  • Participate in the drafting of proposals for grants.
  • Support the design and planning of future studies.
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research projects.

Your Profile

  • PhD Degree in a relevant field such as Epidemiology, (Bio)Statistics, or Bioinformatics.
  • Strong analytical skills, including familiarity with statistical software such as R and SAS.
  • Hands-on experience in the analysis of large epidemiological datasets, preferably including omics data.
  • Understanding of biological processes and metabolic physiology.
  • Very good command of English; knowledge of German will be an asset.

If you fulfill all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 13. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an initial fixed term of 2 years but may be extended under certain circumstances.
