We offer an interesting PhD position in numerical modelling of the oceanic surface mixed layer. The successful candidate will use Large Eddy Simulations (LES) in order to study a variety of energy transfer mechanisms between surface waves, sub-mesoscale, and small-scale turbulence.

The project is part of a large German collaborative research center on energy transfers in atmosphere and ocean (TRR181). The candidate will join the “Theoretical Oceanography” group at the Institute of Oceanography, University of Hamburg.
