Principal Engineer - AI-Enabled Embedded Software (Multi-GenAI Orchestration)

A leading technology organisation is looking for a Principal Engineer / AI Architect to transform embedded software engineering through AI-driven digitalisation.

The role focuses on orchestrating multiple Generative AI systems and integrating agentic AI, DevOps and engineering toolchains to create scalable, intelligent and highly automated software development environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Generative AI, multi-agent orchestration and embedded software engineering, alongside hands-on expertise in Python, C/C++ and the Atlassian ecosystem.

Experience integrating AI into Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket is essential, as is an understanding of enterprise AI governance, CI/CD and safety-critical embedded development.

The key skills required for the Principal Engineer - AI-Enabled Embedded Software:

• Strong experience with Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Hands-on experience with multi-GenAI orchestration and agentic AI systems.
• Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen or CrewAI.
• Proven experience with the Atlassian platform, including Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
• Strong Python programming skills for AI applications, orchestration and automation.
• C/C++ programming experience within embedded software environments.
• Experience designing AI-enabled software development lifecycle (SDLC) platforms and automating requirements, development, testing and validation workflows.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code and distributed systems.
• Experience integrating AI into code generation, code reviews, debugging, root-cause analysis and automated test creation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, RTOS, development toolchains and ECU architectures.
• Knowledge of ASPICE and safety-critical, real-time software development.
• Familiarity with MISRA, ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434 compliance requirements.
• Experience with enterprise AI governance, secure deployment and approved GenAI tools.
• Proven technical leadership, including defining architecture, establishing engineering standards and driving AI adoption across engineering teams.

You will lead the architecture and delivery of AI-driven engineering platforms, orchestrating multiple LLMs, AI agents and enterprise tools to automate and optimise the embedded software development lifecycle. Working across AI, DevOps and embedded engineering, you will enable secure, governed and traceable workflows spanning requirements, code development, testing and validation.
