Senior Experimental AMO Physicist – Neutral Atom Quantum Computing
Play a leading role in the development of next‑generation neutral‑atom quantum computers.
This senior position is ideal for an experienced experimental AMO physicist who can drive technical direction, influence system architecture, and mentor colleagues while advancing cutting‑edge quantum hardware.
What you'll do
- Design, build, characterise, and optimise neutral‑atom quantum processors.
- Lead measurement campaigns, monitor system performance, and improve operational stability.
- Identify and mitigate sources of noise, decoherence, and gate errors to enhance system performance.
- Analyse experimental data to inform design decisions and hardware improvements.
- Drive architecture decisions and provide technical leadership across the quantum processing unit.
- Mentor scientists and engineers while contributing to the team's technical growth.
- Apply the latest advances in AMO physics and quantum information to accelerate development.
What we're looking for
- Ph D in Experimental AMO Physics or a closely related field, plus 5+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Proven track record designing, building, and advancing complex neutral‑atom or comparable experimental quantum systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more of the following
- Optical tweezers or optical lattices
- Atomic clocks or atom interferometry
- Quantum gates and neutral‑atom quantum computing
- Experience mentoring scientists or engineers.
- Grant writing and research project experience is an advantage.
