WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN TURN EUROPE’S FUTURE INTO WORDS, FORMATS, AND STORIES PEOPLE REMEMBER Content & Activation Marketing Associate Compensation:
€38,000-45,000 gross per year
Europe is living through one of the most demanding moments of its recent history. War has returned to the continent. Democracy is under pressure. Technology is reshaping politics, society, and power. Younger generations are asking different questions. And yet, too often, the European conversation remains slow, technical, fragmented, or simply unable to reach the people it should speak to.
This is why the Europe’s Futures Initiative (EFI) was created. EFI is a new European platform based in Vienna, built to bring together thinkers, practitioners, journalists, artists, policymakers and civic voices to imagine, debate, and shape Europe’s future.
We are not here to simply comment on Europe. We are here to help build the conversations, formats, and communities that Europe now needs.
Who we are Europe's Futures Initiative is a new independent organisation working at the intersection of ideas, politics, culture, and public debate.
We produce content, convene people, launch projects, support more than 40 fellows spread across Europe, and create spaces where the continent's future can be discussed with ambition, depth, and imagination.
We are young as an organisation, but we build on a strong European network and on years of intellectual, civic and policy work. We are based in Vienna, but our work is European in scope.
The team is small, the pace is intense, and many things still need to be built: formats, routines, audiences, campaigns, partnerships, community practices. That is exactly why joining EFI now matters.
This is not a role for someone who wants to simply join an existing machine. It is a role for someone who wants to learn by helping to build one.
Who we are looking for We are looking for a Content & Activation Marketing Associate to support EFI's public presence across content, social media, newsletters, campaigns, and audience activation.
This is an early‑career role for someone with around 1–3 years of experience in content, communication, marketing, digital media, social media, campaigns or a related field.
We are looking for someone curious, sharp, organised and hands‑on. Someone who wants to grow fast, learn how ideas move in public, and help make EFI visible, recognisable and relevant across Europe.
You do not need to be a finished professional. But you should be someone who writes well (in English), notices details, understands digital culture, cares about how things look and sound, and wants to work on something bigger than a normal content calendar.
You will support the team in turning EFI's work into clear, engaging and well‑distributed content: social posts, newsletters, campaign materials, event promotion, video captions, website updates, and audience engagement.
This is not a purely editorial role, and it is not purely a marketing role. It sits in between: content, digital presence, campaigns, audience activation, events, and public visibility.
If you want to grow inside a new European initiative and help build its voice from the ground up, this may be for you.
What you will work on You will help EFI:
Support EFI's content and activation work across digital channels.
Support EFI's social media planning, scheduling and publishing.
Write copy for social media, newsletters, campaigns, event promotion and other communication materials, while bringing ideas for new formats, posts, campaigns, and ways to reach new audiences.
Help promote EFI's events, projects, videos, and public activities.
Support event communication before, during, and after EFI activities.
Turn complex European and geopolitical ideas into clear and accessible content.
Help prepare visual and editorial briefs for designers, video producers, photographers, and external collaborators.
Support newsletter production and audience engagement.
Help build online and offline visibility for EFI's initiatives.
Track analytics and audience insights to understand what works and what can improve.
Keep communication calendars, content plans and production workflows organised and updated.
Help ensure consistency of tone, visuals and messaging across EFI's public channels.
What we expect We are looking for someone with:
Around 1–3 years of experience in content, marketing, digital media, communication, social media, campaigns, or a related field.
Strong writing and editing skills in English. Other languages are welcome but not required.
Good understanding of social media and digital storytelling.
Strong editorial and visual judgement: for language, formats, timing, and presentation.
Strong interest in European politics, international affairs, culture, democracy, technology, or public debate.
The ability to translate complex ideas into clear and engaging messages.
Organisational skills and attention to detail.
A hands‑on attitude and willingness to learn.
Comfort working in a small, fast‑moving and still‑evolving organisation.
Familiarity with newsletters, CMS, analytics tools, CRM systems or basic design tools is an asset.
What we offer
The opportunity to join a new European organisation at an early stage.
A role where you can learn fast and grow with the organisation.
The chance to work at the intersection of politics, ideas, content, marketing, and public engagement.
A European network of thinkers, practitioners, institutions, and civic actors.
A small, ambitious, and collaborative team.
The possibility to contribute to EFI's voice, formats, and public presence from the beginning.
Flexibility and a hybrid working environment.
A workplace in the centre of Vienna, one of Europe's key cities for diplomacy, culture, and international debate.
What this role is not This is not a role for someone who wants to simply post content and move on. We are looking for someone who is curious about how ideas travel: how they are written, framed, designed, published, distributed, and understood.
EFI is young and growing, so the role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the willingness to help build routines while also delivering the work.
This is also not a passive execution role. It is an early‑career position, but we are looking for someone who can notice things, ask the right questions, propose ideas, and take responsibility.
We are looking for someone who thinks about the bigger picture: ideas, audiences, timing, formats, and impact, not only posts, captions, newsletters, and calendars. Good communication does not just publish information. It helps people see why something matters.
