Working Student Software Engineering, AI (m/f/d) in Berlin

About the role

Our AI Enablement Team makes AI useful across EVENTIM. We identify high-impact use cases, build AI-powered applications, give teams access to modern AI tools and models, and help colleagues use them effectively.

As a Working Student in Software Engineering, AI, you’ll work directly with our engineers on real use cases—from internal tools that improve how teams work to customer-facing applications in the EVENTIM product landscape. Our work helps create smarter, more seamless experiences for fans, artists and promoters.

You don’t need to know everything already. We’re looking for someone who is curious about what is happening in AI, enjoys building software and wants to find out what works in practice.

What you’ll work on

• Turn new ideas and use cases into working applications and services.
• Develop AI-enabled web applications together with our engineers, across frontend and backend.
• Deploy applications and services on AWS and learn how software is operated in a cloud environment.
• Integrate AI applications and services into our shared AI platform.
• Explore new AI models, tools and frameworks, test them and help us understand where they can be useful.
• Support AI trainings, knowledge sharing and practical guidance for colleagues across EVENTIM.

Our stack includes technologies such as Python, TypeScript, AWS and a range of current AI tools and frameworks. You don’t need to know all of them before joining.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who already enjoys writing software and wants to become much better at it.

You should be comfortable programming in at least one language and have a basic understanding of web applications, APIs and Git.

More importantly, we want someone who is genuinely into software and AI - someone who tries things, wants to understand how they work and enjoys solving problems with code.

We don’t expect years of experience or a long list of technologies you already know. What we do expect is curiosity, energy and the willingness to invest time in learning.

Nice to have

None of these are requirements, but we’d be happy to see:

• First experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• First experiments with LLMs, AI APIs or AI-based applications
• Personal projects, university projects, hackathons or open-source contributions
• A GitHub profile or another place where we can have a look at code you’ve written

If you have built something you are proud of, send it our way. It doesn’t have to be polished.

What you’ll get from the role

You’ll work on software that people actually use and see how an idea turns into a running application.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and have someone in our Berlin office to spar with when you get stuck, want a second opinion or simply want to understand something better.

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to different parts of software and AI engineering — from prototyping and application development to deployment, evaluation and integration — and have plenty of room to try things yourself.

Our Berlin office

Our Berlin team works from a modern, well-equipped office at Alexanderplatz.

We work hybrid, but for this role we want to spend regular time together in the office. Especially as a Working Student, we think there is a lot of value in sitting together, pairing on problems and being able to ask questions directly.

• Hours: Approx. 20 hours per week
• Start: As soon as possible
• Commitment: At least 6 months

• Student status: You need to be currently enrolled at a university and able to provide proof of enrollment.
