About the Opportunity

A leading Tier 1 Contractor is seeking an experienced M&E Project Planner to join its project team in Berlin, delivering a large-scale Hyperscale Data Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed M&E programmes covering the full lifecycle of Mechanical and Electrical services, from design and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

This role is ideally suited to a Planner with strong experience coordinating complex M&E packages within Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor or other mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Planner:

  • Develop and maintain detailed M&E project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Integrate Mechanical and Electrical activities into the overall master programme.
  • Plan key M&E workstreams including design, BIM coordination, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Programme major Mechanical packages including HVAC, chilled water, pipework, ventilation and associated plant.
  • Programme major Electrical packages including LV/MV systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, busbar and containment.
  • Coordinate planning inputs from Engineering, BIM, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC and Commissioning teams.
  • Monitor long-lead equipment and ensure procurement dates align with installation requirements.
  • Track critical M&E interfaces with CSA works and identify access, readiness and sequencing constraints.
  • Develop look-ahead programmes for Mechanical and Electrical installation teams.
  • Monitor actual progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays.
  • Prepare recovery programmes and mitigation strategies where required.
  • Support labour and resource forecasting across M&E packages.
  • Monitor testing, commissioning and energisation milestones through to IST and final handover.
  • Provide programme updates, progress reports and critical-path analysis to senior project management and the client.

Necessary Requirements of the Project Planner:

  • Proven experience as an M&E Planner, Project Planner or Planning Engineer.
  • Strong experience within Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Industrial or other technically complex M&E projects.
  • Excellent understanding of Mechanical and Electrical construction sequencing.
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience integrating design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Good understanding of M&E systems including HVAC, chilled water, LV/MV distribution, UPS, generators and switchgear.
  • Experience planning long-lead equipment, commissioning activities and system handover.
  • Strong understanding of critical path, programme risk and schedule recovery.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Previous Hyperscale Data Centre experience is highly desirable.
  • Full working rights to operate in Germany / Europe are preferred.
