Educational Consultant Position

This is not a traditional college counseling job.

At EWC, we build real relationships with students and families. We're looking for a college admissions or higher education expert who can mentor, strategize, encourage, problem-solve, and occasionally calm a panicked senior at 8 PM before an application deadline.

Our students, including many neurodiverse students, need someone who is both compassionate and highly organized. Someone who loves working with teenagers, communicates well with parents, and genuinely enjoys helping students find their path.

This role is best for someone who:

You'll manage a roster of approximately 20 students (which equals about 20 one-hour meetings a week with students, then planning and reporting), guiding families through course planning, college strategy, applications, essays, and admissions decisions using EWC's proven systems and curriculum.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.
• 2+ years of professional, school-based experience in college/university admissions, high school counseling, or related work.
• Strong knowledge of NC colleges and universities.
• Experience with guiding and supporting neurodiverse students.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

• Transfer admissions experience.
• Deep knowledge of Charlotte-area high schools, southeastern universities.
• Comfortable with innovation and likes to generate new ideas.
• Enjoys a fun, caring work environment.

Compensation

• $38 - $42/hour starting rate.
• Fully remote work + build your own schedule.
