Linux System Administrator

Salary : €55,000 – €80,000 per year (depending on experience)

A leading provider of High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join their System Integration and Support team. This role involves installing, managing, and optimizing HPC environments, ensuring seamless operation and technical excellence.

As a Linux System Administrator , you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting complex HPC systems across storage, GPU clusters, and PC clusters. You will work remotely and on-site, providing technical consultation and troubleshooting for customer environments. On-the-job training will take place in Leinfelden-Echterdingen for 3-6 months, after which the role can transition to fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Remote and on-site customer support for HPC infrastructure.
• Installation and configuration of storage, GPU, and PC cluster systems.
• Technical support and troubleshooting for customer projects.
• Error analysis, documentation, and process optimization.
• Testing and validation of new HPC hardware.
• Liaising with customers and sales teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent certifications.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration experience in hardware and software environments.
• Background in technical customer support with high client interaction.
• Experience with HPC storage systems (Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS).
• LPIC certification is an advantage.
• Fluent in German with good English skills.
• EU citizenship required due to customer regulations.
