Tasks

As a fullstack developer, you will be adding new features to our customer-facing materials screening and computation platform. You will work in our small but growing development team alongside our Python developers and our team of materials scientists.

Knowledge about Materials Science is not required

• You will build new interfaces, implement new application functionality, and maintain the existing codebase.
• You will work on integrations between our Ruby on Rails application and our Python computation backend, including scaling our queuing and pooling systems.

Requirements

• You hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• You have strong experience in testing (specifically with RSpec).
• Ability to work autonomously and self-manage are very important.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; German skills are a plus.
• You live in Munich or want to move to Munich within 3-4 months and are then willing to work ca. 50% of your time onsite.

Not required but a plus:

• Experience working with Sidekiq and/or other job management systems.
• Experience in UI/UX design/implementation.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience working in a startup environment.
