• What you’ll do
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations within the freight and logistics sector, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the financial health of the logistics division.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes related to freight billing, accounts payable, and receivable, enhancing overall workflow.
• Conduct regular audits of financial records and transactions to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Manage the budgeting process for the logistics department, providing forecasts and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and available for review.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the freight and logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to logistics and transportation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with tools such as Quick Books, SAP, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting.
