Senior Test Manager - Mainframe & Linux

Location: Zurich Start date: 01.10.2026 Duration: 5 months - with possibility of extension Responsibilities Develop and document a detailed testing strategy tailored to the complex migration from mainframe assembler applications to the target landscape on Java/SQL under Linux. Identify and integrate various testing methodologies (unit, functional, and comparison testing) into the testing framework. Define and integrate appropriate testing tools (e.g. X-Ray). Coordinate and oversee the execution of testing activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. Support the test execution process across multiple testing phases, including planning, environment setup, execution, and reporting. Act as the primary liaison between project stakeholders, including architects, developers, and project management teams. Lead, mentor, and manage a small test team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Monitor and report on testing progress, defects, and overall quality metrics to stakeholders. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. Produce comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports. Provide regular updates and status reports to senior project management and other stakeholders. Qualifications 15+ years of experience in complex projects as a Test Manager. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, particularly unit testing and functional testing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect easily with all project stakeholders. Experience with Agile methodologies.
