We are seeking an experienced Insurance Specialist to join a leading international private equity investment company focused on acquiring, developing and repositioning medium-sized businesses across various industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing insurance-related activities across the company’s investment portfolio, working closely with internal deal teams, insurance brokers, underwriters and insurance providers. You will play a key role in reviewing insurance terms within acquisition agreements, developing risk mitigation strategies, securing appropriate insurance coverage and identifying opportunities to enhance portfolio value throughout the investment lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance professional with at least five years of experience in insurance brokerage, underwriting or risk management. The role offers exposure to international M&A transactions, strategic investment activities and portfolio risk management within a fast-paced private equity environment, alongside opportunities for professional development and international collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal deal teams to review and negotiate insurance-related terms within purchase agreements and M&A transactions.
- Develop and implement insurance strategies to mitigate risks and identify value creation opportunities throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers, underwriters and insurance carriers to secure appropriate insurance coverage for portfolio companies.
- Monitor insurance market trends, regulatory developments and emerging risks to identify opportunities for portfolio optimisation.
- Support the administration and renewal of insurance policies for the company’s holding operations.
- Contribute to improving insurance-related risk management practices across the investment portfolio.
Your Profile
- Business fluency in German and English is essential.
- Completed apprenticeship or Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline, with outstanding results.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within the insurance industry, particularly in insurance brokerage, underwriting or risk management.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, coverage types and risk assessment practices.
- Ability to conduct insurance due diligence and negotiate insurance-related terms within mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly, concisely and professionally.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as part of the role.
- Ability to work effectively within an international business environment.
