Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Ecotoxicologist for our Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice in Harrogate (UK), Nottingham (UK), London (UK), Dublin (IE), Mannheim (DE) or Basel (SW) offices; homeworking will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental risk assessments for plant protection products as required by EU legislation (Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009).
- Provide advice to clients on plant protection product ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment issues.
- Summarise and interpret data, including study reports and published literature in the area of ecotoxicology, drawing sound scientific and regulatory conclusions.
- Perform data gap analysis, develop testing strategies and monitor ecotoxicology studies.
- Provide verbal and/or written inputs to multi‑disciplinary project teams and contribute to high‑level strategic advice to clients and high‑quality outputs.
Skills and Qualifications
- MSc. degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., biology, environmental science).
- Experience completing environmental risk assessments under EU plant protection product legislation (e.g., Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009). Applicants must have relevant experience in this field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong team‑working skills.
- Sound judgement and decision‑making ability.
- Good numeracy skills.
