Roche fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion, representing the communities we serve. When dealing with healthcare on a global scale, diversity is an essential ingredient to success. We believe that inclusion is key to understanding people’s varied healthcare needs. Together, we embrace individuality and share a passion for exceptional care. Join Roche, where every voice matters.
The Position
We, the Digital Biomarker (dBM) and Remote Patient Management (RPM) Chapter in Roche Information Solutions (RIS), are a coordinated team of scientists, technologists, data analysts, and operations experts that leverages mobile technologies like smartphones and wearables to bring the power of sensor measures to patients everywhere: in clinical drug trials and clinical care.
We drive research, workflows, and analytics for Digital Biomarkers and Remote Patient Management in RIS. Together with our partners, we invent, craft, and deliver solution capabilities, products, and services for better clinical research and improved healthcare outcomes.
We co-create innovative digital remote monitoring concepts for sensitive and meaningful drug development endpoints, implement them in technology solutions, develop health-related outcome measures with the data, seek community- and regulatory acceptance of corresponding endpoints, and offer them to Biopharma companies and research institutes for use in clinical trials.
We are establishing the scientific foundations for disease monitoring and screening solutions in clinical practice and enable patients and healthcare providers to leverage the power of sensor data for better outcomes in the management of neurological disease, diabetes, and others.
The Opportunity:
- Establish and scale a high-performing Digital Biomarker clinical integration capability for patient-centric digital health solutions in clinical trials.
- Craft and develop the operating model of a “CRO-like” digital clinical trials operations unit.
- Form and advise a team of internal employees, contractors, and consultants, and build a customer success engine.
- Co-create the Digital Biomarker customer engagement and delivery roadmap with the commercial product lifecycle team.
- Integrate mobile sensor data workflows in clinical development processes, and lead delivery of digital biomarker projects.
- Collaborate with a broad stakeholder community to ensure successful integration of Digital Biomarkers in drug development studies.
- Contribute to the dBM & RPM chapter’s organizational evolution, establish portfolio processes and governance, and represent Roche at relevant conferences.
Who you are:
- Hold a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field (Ph.D. is an advantage), with 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical and digital health, leading data analytics, digital sensor processing efforts, and operationalizing ePRO, eCOA, or digital biomarkers.
- Proven senior operations leader in a global CRO, with a successful track record of integrating digital health technology into operating models.
- Extensive experience in sensor data and digital biomarker development, with strong team coordination skills and a sense of value creation.
- In-depth understanding of the drug development process, including portfolio decision making and regulatory approval.
- Proficient in digital health technology use cases across different therapeutic areas, with effective leadership in guiding diverse expert teams and encouraging a collaborative environment.
- Transparent communicator with effective empowering leadership and mentoring skills.
- Strong experience working in a matrix setup, embracing new ways of leading and encouraging a collaborative, mentoring environment.
