The International Communications Leader (ICL) is a member of the Global Pharma Strategy (GPS) communications team at Roche.
The ICL is responsible for end‑to‑end product and portfolio communications strategies, driving portfolio and commercial objectives through high‑impact external communications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global product and disease area communications plans, including strategy, tactics and resources.
- Work closely with cross‑functional partners – affiliate communicators, corporate and internal communications, media relations, investor relations, and product development leaders – to ensure alignment and successful delivery of communications activities.
- Provide counsel to the Lifecycle Leader and the Commercialisation Strategy Leader on communications matters.
- Identify, prepare for, and manage communications activities for issues related to assigned topics.
- Lead cross‑functional teams and drive activities to successful conclusion within a matrixed and multicultural environment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support global travel as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred science, business or communications) and 10+ years of communications experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related healthcare industry.
- Commercially focused with demonstrated ability to work closely with C‑suite executives.
- Experience in one or more of Roche’s therapeutic areas – Immunology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, CVRM – is a plus.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Digital and social media expertise alongside traditional media communications.
- Strong storytelling skills, excellent editorial judgement and passion for language.
- Clear understanding of compliance and legal regulations.
