The mySugr GmbH – now part of Roche – is headquartered in Vienna. We develop digital solutions that help people manage their health. As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) you will work on our navify platform, contributing to the development of backend services that support our health applications. Responsibilities
Work in cross‑functional agile teams comprising engineers, designers, product owners, and QA experts. Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend services using Spring Boot, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and REST APIs. Apply OpenID Connect, Keycloak or other SSO solutions for secure authentication. Develop AI/LLM‑powered backend services and tools. Champion clean code, unit and integration testing, CI/CD, and quality practices. Share knowledge, guide peers, and participate in code reviews. Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer, including a minimum of 2 years in backend development. Proficiency in Java 21+ and Spring Boot 3+. Strong experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL. Knowledge of OpenID Connect, Keycloak or equivalent SSO implementations. Experience building AI/LLM‑powered backend services. Solid skills in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or comparable cloud providers. Passion for clean, stable, testable, and performant backend code and future‑proof architectures. Strong communication skills in English. Proven ability to guide and mentor other engineers. Bonus Skills
Experience in automated testing with Selenium or Selenide. Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑code, Terraform and GitHub Actions. Understanding of medical, security, and privacy regulations. Knowledge of the diabetes industry or other comparable health industries. Benefits
