Quality Control (QC) Product Analytical Testing Basel-Basel-Kaiseraugst (BBK): Basel (Small Molecules/DS/DP), Basel (Large Molecules/DS/DP-Development) and Kaiseraugst (Small Molecules/DS/DP, Large Molecules/DS/DP) comprises approximately 110 employees, organized in 5 teams with subordinary structures and is a central key point for the manufacturing of high quality medicines. This involves combining drug safety with both the requirements of effective manufacturing and rapid market introduction of new drugs and technologies.

The labs cover an analytical scope from Bioassay Testing to Small and Large Molecule physical/chemical testing and are crucial to ensure timely release of our products.

The Opportunity:

The Head of QC Product Analytical Testing influences the strategic development of the entire development and commercial analytical network, seeks contacts with local as well as global stakeholders of quality control, production and development, thus ensuring reliable and efficient analytics for the safety of our products and for the health of patients. As Head of Product Analytical Testing you are responsible for strategy, budgeting and headcount planning.

As a leader, you will encourage your employees in their further development. You are an active member of the QC Leadership Team BBK, as well as a representative in the Basel and Kaiseraugst Quality Leadership Teams and thus directly influence the development of the local and global analytical organization.

Your other main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of people leaders and subject matter experts to achieve strategic and operational goals, as well as organizational development, talent and performance management.
  • Creating a work environment characterized by team spirit, effective communication, motivation and inspiration, and actively promoting self-organization.
  • Improving GMP compliance by proactively contributing to root cause analysis and CAPA measures.
  • Ensuring economical use of technical equipment and materials.
  • Ensuring a good flow of information within and outside your own organizational area.
  • Development, implementation and execution of QC strategies and goals with local as well as global partners.
  • Represent QC Product Analytical Testing in audits and inspections; Ensure procedures and documentation are regulatory compliant and inspection ready.

Who you are:

  • Following your studies in life-sciences, you have gained sound professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the field of quality control testing (phys/chem) of large and small molecules.
  • You have already gained more than 3 years of experience in managing staff and leading an organization over several levels and appreciate working in a team.
  • You are familiar with LPS methodology, have extensive expertise in cGMP, as well as profound knowledge of local and international GMP regulations.
  • You take on challenging tasks independently, have the analytical ability to evaluate complex issues and make decisions.
  • You have a professional and results-oriented work style and are focused on continuous improvement.
  • As an integrative personality with strong communication skills, you are able to build trusting and effective relationships with a wide range of partners at the Kaiseraugst site and in the global Roche network.
  • Your excellent communication skills in fluent German or English enable you to deal with interlocutors at all levels.
