About Growth
Our Growth collective is focused on helping more people discover Monzo, understand what makes us different, and find the products that can make money work better for them. For this role, you’ll have a particular focus on our web experiences , helping us rethink how people discover, explore and choose Monzo before they ever open the app. You’ll combine strong visual and interaction design with a data-informed mindset, using experimentation and customer insight to understand what works and continuously improve the experience. You don’t need to have worked in a dedicated Growth team before. We’re interested in designers who are curious about customer behaviour, comfortable using data to inform their decisions, and excited by the opportunity to apply exceptional craft to high-impact customer journeys.
You’ll play a key role by...
- Leading the design of high-quality web experiences that help new and existing customers discover the value Monzo can bring to their financial lives.
- Using quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities, understand customer behaviour and make informed design decisions.
- Turning customer and business problems into clear hypotheses, designing experiments and using what you learn to shape what we do next.
- Bringing exceptional visual and interaction craft to our web experiences, creating work that feels unmistakably Monzo while driving meaningful customer and commercial outcomes.
- Tackling complex and ambiguous design challenges, balancing customer needs, business goals and technical constraints to create simple, effective experiences.
- Defining compelling product visions and direction, helping teams think beyond individual experiments toward a coherent long-term customer experience.
- Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Research throughout the design process, bringing people together around customer problems and opportunities.
- Using AI to level‑up parts of your design workflow.
- Whether that’s ideation, analysis, prototyping or shipping production code.
- Taking a pragmatic approach to experimentation — moving quickly when we need to learn, while knowing when an experience needs a higher level of craft and polish.
- Acting as a role model in Design, sharing your work broadly, mentoring others, and contributing to the growth and success of the wider Design team.
We’d love to hear from you if…
You have a proven track record of designing high-quality web experiences , with a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual and interaction design craft. You’re comfortable using data to inform your design decisions , partnering with Data Scientists or Analysts to understand customer behaviour and measure the impact of your work. You can connect great customer experiences with measurable outcomes and understand how design can contribute to wider product and commercial goals. You’re comfortable forming hypotheses, experimenting with different approaches and adapting your thinking as you learn. You can balance speed and experimentation with a high bar for craft, knowing when to prototype quickly and when to invest in creating an exceptional final experience. You’re a natural collaborator who can bring together Product, Engineering, Data, Research and other partners around complex customer problems. You thrive in ambiguity and can create clarity and direction when the answer isn’t immediately obvious. You’re comfortable thinking beyond an individual screen or experiment, connecting work across journeys and helping shape a longer-term vision. You’re a role model who actively contributes to the growth of the Design team through mentoring, feedback and sharing your expertise. You’re excited about Monzo’s mission to make money work for everyone and the opportunity to help more people discover the value of Monzo.
