Join a fast-growing company with a purpose! At Fastned you will actively contribute to accelerating the transition to electric mobility. As our first person on the ground in Austria you will join our mission to build a Europe-wide network of fast charging stations. We are 300+ colleagues from over 40 nationalities, spread across 9+ operational countries, with our HQ located in Amsterdam. We were voted the best charging network in the UK, France, and the Netherlands in 2023 and awarded B-Corp certification in July 2024.
Your role
As the first member of the Fastned team in Austria, you will open the Austrian market for our charging network and help bring ‘Freedom to the Electric Driver’. Together with a highly skilled, international team, you will help shape and execute the strategy to position Fastned as a top fast charging provider in Austria. You will assess market potential, identify growth opportunities, and build meaningful relationships with government and private sector stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include preparing and negotiating public tenders and creating commercial partnerships.
This position offers the chance to combine strategic thinking, business development, and networking with strong internal and external communication. You will collaborate with the commercial development and international public affairs teams to feed early opportunities into our pipeline. Being successful in this role means implementing a comprehensive development plan for Austria while also being hands-on in creating concrete projects. You will set up a local Fastned organisation and build a team around you. Feeding in opportunities and contributing to our European pipeline of new locations is the main goal.

This role will be based in Austria , where you will become part of the Expansion team, a fun and diverse group of professionals spread across Europe . You will report directly to the Head of New Markets and work under the Network Development Director. You will collaborate closely with other teams across our different European locations, and you will get the unique chance to learn a lot about – and become part of our future-driven industry, where you can make a real impact!
Who we are looking for
In order to be successful in this role you have to be a convincing business developer and networker with outstanding people skills. You bring along extensive experience in high growth environments and optimally have knowledge of the Austrian market in the field of mobility. You are a real networker, have a nose for business opportunities and you love to push projects through until success. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English;
- Open for regular travel within Austria and our offices;
- You are motivated by accelerating the energy transition;
- Bonus: Knowledge of property development, real estate and building regulations;
- Bonus: An existing network of key government and private Austrian stakeholders in energy, infrastructure, transport or e-mobility sectors;
