Februar’s mission is to lead the web3 payments revolution. To do so, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Full-time) (m/f/x).

About

Februar is the developers’ choice when it comes to payments in Web3. We are building an easy to integrate API for all Web3 projects (wallets, NFT storefronts, DeFi protocols, gaming, …), so they can offer their customers the forms of payment they love. We deliver an essential part for Web3 to grow, by bringing fiat (EUR) payments into any crypto-context.

We have raised our pre-seed round from leading FinTech and Web3 investors.

Given that we are an early stage start-up, you will play an important role in the success of Februar. At the same time, this means you will have to deal with uncertainty and lots of responsibility. If this motivates you, we would love to get to know you.

Requirements

1. You have the ability to write well-structured and tested code in programming languages like NodeJS. Having great experience in another object-oriented or functional programming language is very beneficial.
2. You know how a modern frontend (e.g., written in React) works or have profound experience at structuring the frontend-backend communication through APIs.
3. You worked with many different SDKs before and know how to serve likeminded developers with the best SDK.
4. You have rich experience at writing and structuring APIs (with NodeJS) to make them world-class.
5. You’ve gained good experience with AWS Services such as Lambda, EC2, RDS, API Gateway.
6. You have a very good understanding of open source databases such as PostgreSQL or memory-databases like Redis.
7. You have good understanding and experience with streaming or messaging platforms, ideally Kafka.
8. You gained hands-on experience with testing/mocking different entities, use-cases, and 3rd party integrations.
9. You have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide in-depth evaluations and analyses of unique and complex technological issues.
10. You are passionate about building for THE web3 payment solution for other developers, to make their web3 journey as easy as possible.

Cash Salary: 65.000€-75.000€ gross annual salary

Stock Options: ~0.2-0.4% of the company

Please note: Februar is currently in the pre-seed stage – with our seed round funding, we will increase your salary by at least 20% (ensured by contractual clauses).
