Position overview as part of this PhD, you will engage in‑depth with the research project “Longitudinal Changes in Cardiorespiratory, Hematological, and Iron Metabolism‑Related Parameters in Adolescent Elite Endurance Female Athletes” and make a valuable contribution to current research. The project investigates long‑term trends in key performance indicators and performance‑limiting factors—particularly physiological and energy‑related determinants such as hemoglobin mass, RED‑S, iron deficiency in female elite endurance athletes. Responsibilities
Plan, conduct, and evaluate research projects (with scientific assistance) Write an ethics application for the cantonal ethics commission Conduct extensive pilot measurements (including performance tests, hemoglobin mass measurements, etc.) Recruit junior female endurance athletes Collect, analyze, and compile data Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present findings at scientific conferences Qualifications
Excellent Master’s degree in Sports Science or a related field Strong interest and solid knowledge in sports physiology and female endurance athletes Proficiency in quantitative research methods Open and highly motivated personality with an independent and quality‑focused work style Ability to assess scientific findings in terms of practical relevance and translate them into sport science publications Proficiency in an official Swiss language and very good English skills Benefits
