Engineer Washing & Drying Systems (m/f/d)
This will be your future job
- Design and prototype washing and drying solutions for 3D-printed footwear using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Develop scalable processes to optimize drying speed, energy use, and cleaning efficiency applying Six Sigma or Lean methodologies
- Test, iterate, and refine prototypes in laboratory or pilot production utilizing rapid prototyping equipment
- Document engineering progress with technical reports and compliance records using PLM systems like Teamcenter
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in production, hardware integration, and materials development
- Research advancements in water treatment through literature review and vendor discussions
- Provide troubleshooting support during manufacturing scale-up of post-processing systems
- Mentor project team members on engineering standards adherence within development projects

What you bring to the table
- Completed degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, chemical engineering or similar field (Dipl.-Ing., B.Sc., M.Sc.)
- Several years of experience with water-based processing technology such as industrial washers or dryers
- Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer; proficiency with CFD tools like ANSYS Fluent
- Experience developing energy-efficient solutions for industrial settings using simulation software (e.g. COMSOL Multiphysics)
- Demonstrated ability to design integrated process solutions from concept through implementation in R&D environments
- Practical skills building test rigs; familiarity with lab instrumentation for measuring system performance
- Knowledge of English required; German language knowledge advantageous
