Application Engineer
Responsible for providing pre-sales application consultancy to the sales team, with a focus on Electric Automation. Takes commercial considerations fully into account when proposing solutions. Proactively drives Automation business expansion by uncovering potential and actively identifying opportunities. Assists customers in selecting and acquiring Electric Automation products suitable for their applications. Responsible for pre-sales design of solutions and conceptual ideas for custom solutions prior to handover to engineering team. Accountable for end2end process from early solution concept until initial installation at customer site.
RESPONSIBILITY

Provides technical expertise/consultancy within the sales process and guides to a system concept solution for Electric Automation and other technologies/product lines, according to the local market needs.

Defines the electrical and mechanical design of a solution, derived from the requirement specification defined together with the customer, with focus on standard products.

Provides feasible application solution proposals, based on deep technical product knowledge.

Performs feasibility studies by means of sample setups, simulations or calculations

Provides remote and onsite advisory during after-sales commissioning activities

Supports Sales Engineer in defining the right price and conditions for a solution based on the value add

Performs any ad hoc tasks been assigned by Line Manager from time to time
Innovation and Change

Assists in training initiatives to train the Sales Engineers in relevant engineering tools and newly launched EA products.

Drives further growth in Electric Automation and proactively looks for new opportunities.

Utilizes Festo Experience Center network to win new opportunities and increase customer loyalty
Communication with internal and/or external Customers, Suppliers as well as Third Parties

Holds end2end accountability for supported opportunities from identification phase until installation.

Presents proposed solutions to the customers.

Shares experience and know-how within the Application Engineering team and other internal parties.

Supports colleagues and customers in other countries through its application expertise virtually or on-site.

Ensures close collaboration with other teams.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
*Bachelor’s degree inMechatronic Engineering .
- Minimum 4 years with industrial automation or relevant business.
- Good in spoken and written English.
- Strong performance and problem-solving orientation.
- Openness and Flexibility.
- Customer orientated and analytically strong.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Pro-Active attitude.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Highly organized, even in a scale-up environment.
- Result-driven and self-motivated.
