pJoin the FIA and lead a pioneering safety technology programme. /p pAs F1 Augmented Reality Project Manager within the FIA Technical Department, you will lead a strategic multi-year programme exploring how Augmented Reality and Head-Up Display technologies could enhance driver safety and situational awareness, particularly in conditions of reduced visibility. /p pYou will act as the programme’s technical leader and systems integrator, coordinating specialised suppliers, research partners, Formula 1 teams and internal FIA stakeholders. This is not a traditional project management role. It requires the technical knowledge to challenge engineering proposals, manage integration risks and drive complex technical decisions. /p pThis new permanent, full-time position is based preferably in Geneva. London may also be considered. /p h3MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: /h3 h3TECHNICAL PROGRAMME LEADERSHIP /h3 ul liDefine and own the multi-year technical roadmap, development phases, milestones and deliverables. /li liStructure the programme across key technologies, including helmet and visor displays, optical HUD solutions, sensors, vehicle positioning, data processing and sensor fusion. /li liLead the programme from technology assessment and proof of concept through prototype development, integration and testing. /li liMaintain effective governance through risk, dependency, resource and milestone management. /li /ul h3SYSTEMS INTEGRATION AND TECHNICAL COORDINATION /h3 ul liAct as the technical systems integrator across on-car electronics, sensors, communication systems, data-processing solutions and driver equipment. /li liTranslate safety and operational objectives into technical requirements, system architectures and validation plans. /li liIdentify technical dependencies, interface constraints and integration risks across hardware and software systems. /li liEnsure that solutions address Formula 1 constraints, including packaging, weight, aerodynamics, cooling, latency, reliability and driver safety. /li /ul h3SUPPLIER AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT /h3 ul liIdentify and coordinate specialised technology suppliers, engineering partners and research organisations. /li liReview and challenge supplier proposals, technical architectures, test results, costs and delivery timelines. /li liBuild alignment across Formula 1 teams, FIA technical departments, safety specialists and external partners. /li liLead technical workshops, reconcile competing requirements and facilitate pragmatic compromises. /li /ul h3TESTING, HUMAN FACTORS AND RISK MANAGEMENT /h3 ul liCoordinate simulation, laboratory evaluation, prototype development and vehicle-based testing. /li liDevelop validation protocols for individual technologies and integrated solutions. /li liAssess human factors, including cognitive workload, visual ergonomics, information prioritisation, latency and emergency driver egress. /li liIdentify and mitigate technical, safety, financial, intellectual property and programme-delivery risks. /li /ul h3REGULATORY AND STRATEGIC ROADMAP /h3 ul liAssess potential implications for FIA Technical, Sporting and Financial Regulations. /li liSupport the development of regulatory, standardisation and implementation roadmaps. /li liPrepare technical trade-off analyses, recommendations and phased implementation scenarios. /li liConsolidate technical findings and test results into clear reports for senior leadership and governance bodies. /li /ul h3PROFILE: /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Embedded Systems, Avionics, Optronics or a related discipline. /li liMinimum 7 to 10 years of relevant engineering and project management experience involving complex electronic, control or safety-critical systems. /li liStrong technical knowledge across areas such as vehicle electronics, control systems, sensors, communication systems, sensor fusion, positioning technologies, embedded systems or optical displays. /li liExperience in Formula 1, WEC or advanced motorsport would be highly valuable.
