The Position

More than a job. As the organiser of some of the biggest and most iconic sport events in the world, we lead the way in the sport and event industry. We are now looking for a Team Lead Business Intelligence that is part of FIFA and supports us on our mission.

The Team Lead Business Intelligence is part of a highly senior and experienced cross functional team with a task to ensure the full delivery of the commercial initiatives in FIFA. The Team Lead Business Intelligence will be responsible for the development and delivery of all data-related initiatives across FIFA, including but not limited to all projects connected with fans data collection and analysis, the initiatives at FIFA targeting data analytics and insights with the purpose of allowing data to be at the centre of every decision at FIFA.

In addition, the Team Lead Business Intelligence will be responsible for special business projects for FIFA, as well as mentorship support, strategy and knowledge transfer, the development of the FIFA Knowledge Center, in the areas of data collection, management, organization and monetization.

Your Key Tasks

  • Reorganizing and increasing the efficiency and the strategic attitude of the FIFA Business Intelligence Department.
  • Mentoring and motivating teams to deliver outstanding products, services and solutions as well as working in cooperation with Technology to promote and support the development of a large, centralized, ecosystem of data entries, functional to the creation of insights that can allow demonstration of ROI, effective reinforcement of data storytelling, etc.
  • Developing major global and strategic research projects, managing the end to end process.
  • Monitoring expenditure/fee income/digital/business and strategic growth as applicable.
  • Client relationship management.
  • Line management, and mentoring of managers and more junior staff.
  • Sharing new industry information / research techniques and best practice across the team.
  • Effectively delivering tasks against deadlines and set targets.
  • Designing and delivering high level, engaging and insightful internal and external presentations.
  • Leading teams working on multiple research projects concurrently across a variety of sectors and methodologies.
  • Leading, guiding and advising on quantitative research design, project management and analysis.
  • Interest in more innovative research methods, particularly online communities and other digital research skills.
  • Supporting the management and development of dashboards and any platform that allows data and respective intelligence to be distributed across the organization.
  • Delivering consistent support to the different initiatives proposed by the Chief People, Technology & Operations Officer, including any potential externalization project within FIFA or any 3rd party connected strategically to FIFA.
  • Supporting the implementation of FIFA's projects and initiatives related to Business Intelligence and data management.
  • Developing, managing and optimizing the usage of the Business Intelligence budget; promoting the centralization of data collection and promoting a budget optimization process across the entire organization.

  • University degree or similar education.
  • 5+ years experience in the data and B.I industry at a senior level.
  • 5+ years experience as people manager.
  • Strong track record in data operation and monetization.
  • Senior background in Sports, entertainment, advertisement, business, media or digital, data & social media.
  • Understanding of commercial opportunities and challenges in sports and entertainment.
  • Experience in creating, implementing and managing BI and commercial teams.
  • Digital and data industry experience paramount.
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in any other FIFA language (F / ES / GER) is an asset.
  • Proficient in Word /PowerPoint / Excel.
  • Client oriented, efficient and effective.
  • Ability to define strategic goals, give clear directions and to lead and empower team members.
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative and commitment to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to be flexible and adopt an innovative mind-set.
  • Have an interest in qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
