Filics’ mission is to reinvent intralogistics by creating autonomous mobile robots that fundamentally change how material moves.
Our double‑runner system makes Filics the first and only AMR able to drive through load carriers such as Euro pallets, breaking forklift logic and setting a new standard for efficiency.
We are a small, focused team committed to solving hard problems with engineering excellence.
All team members are expected to be hands‑on and to contribute directly to the company’s mission.
Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver excellence.
Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important.
All team members are expected to have strong communication skills.
They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.
Our Challenge
Our robots rely on a sophisticated software stack that must be robust, reliable, and ready to perform in real‑world environments.
Today, while our core autonomy systems are advancing rapidly, we face a critical challenge: ensuring that every change to our codebase can be tested, debugged, and monitored seamlessly — from development to production.
The mission ahead is to build the testing infrastructure, diagnostic tools, and performance monitoring systems that guarantee our robot stack always works as intended, without regressions.
This includes creating tools used not only in development but also in live operations to monitor robot health.
Solving this challenge means empowering the autonomy and operations teams to move faster, with confidence, and with fewer disruptions in the field.
Your Role
As a Junior C++ Engineer at Filics, you will be part of the Software Engineering Team, working closely with our Autonomy and Operations Teams — your direct “customers.” You will own the testing pipeline and the inspection tools that help us validate, monitor, and debug the entire robot stack.
Your work will sit at the crossroads of platform, algorithms, and operations, serving multiple teams with different requirements.
By building reliable test infrastructure, data inspection tools, and performance diagnostics, you will play a pivotal role in enabling safe, efficient, and scalable autonomy.
- Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain an end‑to‑end testing pipeline for the robot software stack with high coverage.
- Develop diagnostic and inspection tools to analyze robot behavior starting from sensor data (e. g., images, Li DAR, IMUs).
- Build performance monitoring systems for both development and production environments.
- Collaborate closely with autonomy engineers to integrate testing and monitoring into their workflows.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure field diagnostics are fast, accurate, and actionable.
- Anticipate cross‑team needs and adapt tools to different technical domains.
- Our Technology Stack
- Languages: Modern C++ (C++17/20/23), Python (for tooling & testing)
- Build & CI: Bazel, Docker, Git, on‑premise build cluster, CI/CD pipelines
- Simulation & Testing: Continuous testing arena, HIL testing, end‑of‑line testing, calibration pipelines, property‑based and scenario‑driven testing
- OS & Hardware: Linux (Ubuntu) on embedded x86 platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional experience with modern C++ (17/20/23) in complex systems.
- Proven experience creating automated test pipelines end to end: unit, integration, hardware‑in‑the‑loop; e. g. gtest, test orchestration, fixtures, mocks, reproducible seeds
- Strong skills in debugging and profiling, with experience using tools such as gdb, sanitizers, valgrind, or perf.
- Solid Linux development experience, with practical Python or Bash for scripting and automation.
- Solid monitoring and telemetry foundations: metrics, structured logging, tracing, health checks for dev and production environments
- Ability to design clean APIs and CLIs so other engineers and operators can use your tools without friction; strong documentation habits
- CI/CD experience (e. g. Git Lab CI) to run tests reliably and surface results fast
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑team collaboration and clear, concise write‑ups of findings
- Ownership mindset, attention to detail, and a drive for engineering excellence
