Overview
Finance in Motion is a global impact asset manager focused exclusively on sustainable development in low and middle-income countries. The company develops and advises impact investment funds whose blended finance structures bring together public and private investors to address climate change, strengthen biodiversity conservation, foster the sustainable use of natural resources, improve livelihoods, and promote economic opportunities.
Over the course of its operations, Finance in Motion has unleashed a cumulative total of EUR 7.0 billion toward these goals in Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to investment activities, the funds also provide technical assistance to support investees, foster responsible finance, and maximize impact in the countries they serve.

Analyst – Emerging Markets Private Equity / Venture Capital (m/f/d)
Key responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of an equity/venture capital impact fund focused on direct investments in Africa
- Contribute to the monitoring and development of the existing portfolio (FI private equity, FinTech venture capital)
- Accompany all aspects of the investment cycle from origination, initial eligibility screening, off- and on-site due diligence to investment proposal drafting, presentation to senior management and investment committee
- Perform financial analysis and modelling exercises
- Perform market analysis for the target region and beyond
- Establish (and/or expand) personal network in the target region to generate deal flow
What we expect
- University degree in economics, finance, business administration, or computer science
- Knowhow in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, or a high growth startup environment, ideally within Emerging Markets
- Strong financial modelling experience, and solid understanding of valuation methodologies, and financial statements
- Experience in the assessment of early stage/growth stage start-up companies
- Strong interest in Emerging Market investing and VC ecosystem
- Excellent written and spoken English, additional language such as French and/or Arabic is a plus (but not mandatory)
- An open, communicative, and upbeat personality, who loves to interact with people, and enjoys being a host and the backbone of her/his/their team.
- Willingness to frequently travel to the targeted regions
- Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision and mission
