WHAT TO EXPECT
We are seeking a dynamic Workplace Experience professional to oversee the daily operations of our Berlin office and play a key role in the region's ongoing growth and development.
In this role, you will not only support our local team but also collaborate with colleagues across Braze to drive global workplace and employee experience initiatives.
As our Berlin office expands, we’re looking for builders - resourceful, hands-on individuals who thrive in ambiguity and can create structure where needed.
This position sits within the People Team and reports to the Regional Manager, Workplace Experience - EMEA.
Braze is a fast-paced, rapidly growing company, and we need a self-starter who exercises sound judgment, takes initiative, and proactively enhances the employee experience.
You’ll maintain a strong pulse on the needs of our Berlin employees and be adaptable to evolving global conditions and workplace dynamics.
This role will be required to be in-office 5 days per week.
- WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Oversee workplace site operations, managing various programs (e. g., food, snacks, mail, and packages) to deliver a seamless day-to-day employee experience.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all who enter the Berlin office, upholding Braze’s high standards of hospitality and helping create a workplace where employees feel connected, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
- Monitor and respond to workplace service tickets, maintaining a customer-focused mindset to ensure top-tier service for Berlin employees.
- Own the planning and execution of local events and activations, including holiday celebrations, mixers, ERG events, and employee engagement programming, ensuring a high-quality and consistent employee experience.
- Create and deliver engaging workplace communications for the Berlin office, keeping employees informed about upcoming events, office updates, workplace initiatives, amenities, and key announcements.
- Oversee desk management, collaborating with the Workplace Experience team to support hybrid working arrangements.
- Lead the new hire onboarding experience locally by facilitating in-person orientation, delivering engaging office tours, and fostering meaningful local connections.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of workplace initiatives, policies, processes, and tools, including strategies related to hybrid work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners (e. g., IT, Finance, Employee Experience), acting as a trusted advisor on workplace matters.
- Engage proactively with leadership and employees, leveraging data to understand and support the evolving needs of the Berlin team.
- Manage vendor relationships, schedule repairs, and ensure partnerships with best-in-class suppliers, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
- Serve as the primary liaison with building management, ensuring smooth communication and efficient resolution of any facility-related matters.
- Work closely with Procurement and your manager to onboard new vendors, process quotes, and push through proposals to meet deadlines.
- Support budget tracking and financial planning for the Berlin office.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety (H&S) requirements for the Berlin team, working closely with our H&S contractor and the People team.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to maintain H&S standards, implement necessary safety procedures, and ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
- Report any workplace accidents or incidents in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions are completed as required.
WHO YOU ARE
- 3-4 years of experience in Workplace Experience role; experience as site lead a plus
- Ability to work on-site, Monday to Friday, maintaining a full-time, in-office schedule
- Experience in change management, administration and vendor management
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization with an ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with office moves and build-outs a plus
- Data-driven with a mindset of continual improvement
- Demonstrated success in building strong relationships cross-functionally
- A strong communicator, keeping teams and stakeholders informed and up to date
- Passion for best-in-class workplace experience and customer service
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to set own priorities with minimal supervision; experience having remote manager a plus
- A creative problem-solver, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the table
- A sharp eye for detail and a sense of office pride
- An awesome can-do attitude - no task is too big or too small
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25 to 30 pounds
- Familiar with Mac computer and GSuite
