Cloud & AI FinOps Analyst

About the Role

The Cloud & AI FinOps Analyst position at Cantor Fitzgerald is integral to the FinOps & Business Management function, focusing on the financial intelligence necessary to track, analyze, and optimize the growing costs associated with cloud and AI platforms.

In this newly established role, you will report directly to the Technology Business Manager and take ownership of the daily tracking and reporting of cloud and AI costs across the organization.

As AI adoption and cloud consumption accelerate, the role aims to create systematic visibility and optimization of spend.

This position offers direct exposure to senior IT leadership while collaborating with an international team across the US, UK, India, and Poland, making a significant impact on the company’s financial management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Tracking - Monitor daily cloud spending on AWS, GCP, and Azure, categorizing costs by service, environment, team, and application.
  • Extend tracking to AI platform costs including API usage and licensing fees.
  • Maintain the FinOps platform, transitioning from manual data uploads to live API-connected feeds.
  • Analysis & Optimization - Proactively identify cost anomalies, usage spikes, and waste across cloud and AI platforms.
  • Analyze reserved versus on-demand usage to recommend optimization strategies.
  • Perform variance analysis of actual spending against budgets and forecasts.
  • Reporting & Distribution - Build dashboards to present cost data to IT leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Develop alert systems for budget deviations.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly cost reports for stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or GCP Billing.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel for data modeling and reporting.
  • Clear communication abilities in English, capable of presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of experience in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or IT finance capacity.
  • Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • FinOps Foundation certification (FOCP) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with API integration and automated data pipelines.
  • Experience with AI vendor billing consoles and cloud-related expenditures.
  • Exposure to workflow automation tools like Power Automate.
