About the Role

As a Principal FinOps Consultant, you will lead initiatives in establishing and enhancing cloud financial management practices for clients, focusing on value optimization. The role involves close collaboration with technology, finance, and business leaders to ensure cloud investments are transparent, governed, and aligned with key business objectives. You will develop enterprise-level FinOps strategies, which include defining operating models and optimization roadmaps, while working across various cloud platforms and engaging with executive stakeholders. Your involvement will be critical in major cloud transformation programs, as you guide architectural and operational decisions with a strong focus on cost and value. Additionally, you will contribute to the growth of our Cloud Economics and FinOps offerings, ensuring that financial accountability and continuous optimization are achieved across extensive cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise FinOps strategies across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Advise senior stakeholders on cloud cost governance and value optimization.
• Design and implement FinOps operating models, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency in cloud spending and efficiency.
• Lead optimization initiatives focusing on rightsizing, commitment management, and workload efficiency.
• Embed financial awareness into architecture and engineering design decisions.
• Support large-scale cloud migrations and modernization projects from a financial viewpoint.
• Contribute to proposals and client engagement within the Cloud & Infrastructure team.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong experience in cloud financial management, technology consulting, or related fields.
• Practical application of FinOps principles at an enterprise level.
• Hands-on experience with cloud cost management, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience operating in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with commercial FinOps platforms and tooling ecosystems.
• FinOps Foundation certifications (Practitioner or Professional).
• Experience in aligning cloud expenditure with business value and investment decisions.
• Knowledge of Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks.
• Automation strategies for preventing and correcting cost inefficiencies.
