FP&A Manager
About the Role
As an FP&A Manager at AlertMedia, you will take charge of the financial planning and forecasting functions. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, you will serve as a technical expert in revenue forecasting, expense management, and variance analysis. Your work will involve collaboration with various business partners to provide insights into financial performance and identify key drivers. The main objectives of this role include managing revenue forecasting methodologies, developing comprehensive financial models, and delivering detailed analysis to support strategic decision-making. By driving improvements in forecasting accuracy and process efficiency, you will significantly impact the organization’s fiscal health.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Forecasting - Manage revenue (ARR) forecasting and lead monthly reforecasting cycles.
- Develop and maintain the annual operating plan (AOP) financial models.
- Consolidate departmental expense submissions to create bottom-up forecasts.
- Create headcount planning and operating expense models across departments.
- Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to evaluate business drivers.
- Identify opportunities for improving forecasting accuracy and process efficiency.
- Variance Analysis & Business Partnership - Produce detailed monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis with actionable insights.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand key drivers and provide analytical support.
- Update business partners on headcount and compensation to manage variances effectively.
- Prepare board reporting materials, including financial narratives and key result commentary.
- Partner with the accounting team to ensure timely financial close processes.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and forecasting, managing end-to-end processes.
- Proficient in advanced Excel modeling, including building complex financial forecasts.
- Hands-on experience with Claude or similar AI tools for enhancing financial modeling and reporting.
- Strong understanding of SaaS financial dynamics, including ARR modeling and unit economics.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or the ability to quickly learn new financial systems.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the capability to interpret data and create insightful reports.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvements and accountability for results.
- Experience in high-growth, private equity-backed environments.
Preferred Skills
- SQL familiarity for data exploration.
Location
Strong preference for candidates in Austin, Texas, with a hybrid work model (2 days a week) in the downtown office.
