VC Investing Internship - Deep Tech (6 months - Munich or Remote) starting January/Feburary 26

Intro First Momentum Ventures is one of the most extraordinary venture capital funds of this generation. We have built our first fund in 2018 as a campus spin-off. Now we are live with our second €35m+ VC fund. Throughout the last years, we have invested in over 40 pre-seed startups, focusing on B2B and (deep) tech companies, and have become one of the most renowned pre-seed and tech investors in Germany. Since then, many of our portfolio companies have raised successful follow-up funding rounds from the best European and US investors. With our new fund, we are taking First Momentum Ventures to the next level and continue to build one of the best technical pre-seed VCs in Europe! We are specifically looking for people with highly technical backgrounds to assist us with identifying & analysing the most exciting deep tech startups from areas such as Compute, Energy and Space Tech Tasks Support the investment team by sourcing promising deep tech start-ups through various channels. Investigate the commercial potential of breakthrough technologies. Immerse yourself into complex topics and analyse a startup’s technical defensibility and uniqueness. You are convincing the team to pursue an opportunity. Potential topics include (but are not limited to) next-generation solar cells, in-space manufacturing and novel memory architectures. Lead initial screening calls with startup founders independently. Accompany exciting startups through the entire investment process: from sourcing and due diligence to deal making. Assist the Partners in various portfolio support activities. Requirements Strong academical background in physics, engineering, chemistry or a related field. PhDs are encouraged to apply. Your technical background is a valuable asset to our team. Ideally you have gained practical experience in a fast-paced environment, e.g. in a startup or while participating in engineering/student competitions. Passionate about startups and venture capital. Curious to apply your technical expertise to a completely new challenge. Exceptional analytical skills. You are highly motivated, and consistently deliver above average performance. Comfortable working independently and thrive on tackling ambitious projects. Convincing and reflective, while enjoying communicating with startup founders and team members alike.
