Lead Electrical Engineer

12-Month Contract

Our client, one of the world’s largest and most respected data centre operators is expanding rapidly across Europe and they are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to take the reins on a mission-critical programme in Germany.

With a footprint spanning every major region and clients that include hyperscalers, financial giants, and next-gen tech firms, this organisation sets the benchmark in secure, scalable, and sustainable digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and delivery of electrical power systems, ELV systems, and IT infrastructure on large scale builds.
• Own the technical design across all phases; from basic to detailed, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance.
• Select critical components, define data sheets, and maintain technical standards across all specs.
• Guide cross functional engineering teams through design, implementation, and commissioning.
• Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure seamless coordination across workstreams; electrical, mechanical, IT and civil.
• Be the gatekeeper for quality, timelines, and budgets across your stream.
• Navigate and enforce compliance with German regulations, codes, and client specs.

What You Bring:

• Strong background in electrical system design & analysis (MV/LV systems, UPS, generators, lighting, etc.).
• Confident in load flow, short circuit, and selectivity analysis.
• Expertise in life safety and comms systems: fire & gas detection, access control, video monitoring, etc.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc or MSc).
• Extensive hands-on experience in large scale builds; preferably data centre or high tech sectors.
• Solid communication skills in English and German (spoken and written).
• Team driven mindset, with a proactive and flexible approach to fast-paced delivery.
• Willingness to travel across Germany and be on-site where the action happens.
