Head of Data & Analytics (m/f/d) in Köln

For our client based in Cologne, we are seeking an entrepreneurial Head of Data to join on a permanent basis. This individual will be responsible for professionalizing the company's entire data landscape and building a scalable Data & Analytics function from the ground up, serving as the key link between Business, IT, and, in the future, AI initiatives.

In this pivotal role, you will establish the structures, processes, and foundations required for a high-performing data organization, with the opportunity to build and lead a team of two to three Data Experts and Analysts over time.

Working closely with IT, senior management, and business stakeholders, you will help design and develop a scalable data ecosystem that supports a company operating across Europe.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Define and implement an enterprise-wide Data & Analytics strategy
• Build and scale the Data & Analytics function, including governance frameworks and best practices
• Drive data architecture, data integration, and data quality initiatives across the organization
• Establish and maintain a single source of truth for reporting and decision-making
• Lead the development of Business Intelligence, reporting, and analytics capabilities
• Create the foundations required for the successful adoption of AI and advanced analytics
• Define data standards, ownership structures, and compliance requirements
• Partner closely with IT on technology, platform, and architecture decisions
• Advise management and business functions on data-driven transformation initiatives

Ihr Profil

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field
• Several years of experience in Data & Analytics, Data Governance, Business Intelligence, or Data Management
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration, and modern data platforms
• Proven experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions
• Good understanding of emerging AI technologies and their practical application in a business environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to build structures, processes, and capabilities from the ground up
• Strategic thinker with a pragmatic and execution-oriented approach
• Fluent in English; German is considered an advantage
