Job description
Our client, a large European consultancy, seeks an experienced Commercial Lead to lead a team of MEP & CSA Quantity Surveyors and take ownership of all commercial processes on a large data centre project in southwest Germany.
About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Commercial Lead with extensive hands‑on experience in managing all commercial activities, pre- and post-contract, particularly on data centre projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary cost management liaison with client and other project stakeholders
- Responsibility for pre- and post-contract duties including preparation of cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
- Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
- Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
- Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
Required Qualifications
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years of work-related experience
- Experience in data centres or mission critical environments, such as pharma / life sciences, nuclear or battery projects.
- English skills are required, fluent German language skills are preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
