We are working with a leading European renewable energy investment fund on an Associate hire for their German investment team in Munich. The group has put well over €10bn into the energy transition over the last two decades, manages a 10 GW+ portfolio across Europe and the Americas, and is currently raising a €3bn+ flagship fund.
Germany is their biggest market. The local platform has a 3 GW+ pipeline in advanced development, more than 1 GW already built or under construction, and 200+ people across six offices.
The role
You will work on the financing side of wind and solar projects in Germany, with a strong focus on KfW and other public development bank programmes. This is a junior seat with real exposure: you will sit close to the deals, from structuring the debt to financial close, and also help on the equity side of new investments.
What you'll do
- Structure and execute project financings for German wind and solar assets, from term sheet to financial close and drawdown
- Work on KfW-backed and other promotional loan programmes (applications, conditions, bank coordination)
- Build and update project finance models (debt sizing, DSCR, cash flow waterfalls, sensitivities)
- Support equity work on new acquisitions: valuation, due diligence and investment committee papers
- Coordinate banks, lenders and legal, technical and tax advisers
- Prepare financing documentation and manage data rooms
What we're looking for
- 2 to 3 years in project finance, infrastructure debt or renewables, at a bank, development bank, advisory firm, developer or fund
- Hands-on experience with KfW financing or other public development bank funding in Germany
- Some exposure to equity investments or M&A is a strong plus
- Solid modelling skills and a good grasp of financing structures and cash flows
- Fluent German (you will work and negotiate in German) and good English
- Based in Germany or happy to relocate to Munich
What's on offer
- Competitive base plus bonus, 30 days holiday, company pension
- Flexible hours and mobile working
- Training budget and a clear path to Senior Associate
- Relocation support if needed
