Sector: Industrial Machinery | Packaging Automation | Pharmaceutical & Cosmetics

About the Company

Our client is a long-established international manufacturer of automated machinery and complete production lines serving the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

The business designs and manufactures equipment covering multiple stages of the production and packaging process, including filling, inspection, primary and secondary packaging, robotics and end-of-line automation. Its portfolio ranges from individual machines through to complete integrated lines, supporting customers with complex production requirements across international markets.

Alongside its equipment portfolio, the company has established dedicated customer-care, technical-support and service capabilities to support customers throughout the operational lifecycle of their machinery. Its wider digital offering also includes AI inspection, customer-facing digital solutions and industry-specific software.

The Opportunity

The company is seeking an After Sales Manager to support its growing customer base across Germany.

This is a commercially focused aftersales position combining customer management, quotations, spare parts, service coordination and aftermarket development. You will act as a key point of contact for customers, coordinating closely with internal service, engineering, logistics and commercial teams to ensure requests are handled accurately and efficiently.

The role is suited to someone who understands complex machinery and is comfortable managing the commercial and operational detail that sits behind effective aftermarket support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer enquiries relating to spare parts, format parts, technical service, upgrades and machinery refurbishment.
  • Prepare accurate quotations for spare parts, replacement components, service engineer interventions and equipment upgrades.
  • Coordinate field service engineer visits, including planned maintenance and technical support activities.
  • Manage customer orders and coordinate spare parts through receipt, preparation, shipment and delivery.
  • Work closely with logistics and internal technical teams to resolve delivery and service issues.
  • Prepare and process invoices relating to spare parts and service activities.
  • Maintain accurate records across customer enquiries, quotations, orders, shipments and service activity.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades and refurbishment work.

About You

  • Previous experience in an aftersales, service, spare parts, customer support or commercial role within industrial or manufacturing machinery.
  • Experience working with complex capital equipment, automated machinery, production lines or related industrial technology.
  • Strong experience preparing quotations and managing customer orders through to completion.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer requirements simultaneously.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and verbal.
  • A commercially aware and customer-focused approach to aftermarket support.

Highly Desirable Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in aftersales or service-focused positions for established machinery manufacturers such as IMA Group, OPTIMA packaging group, Uhlmann, Körber Pharma or comparable industrial equipment businesses.

Experience does not need to be limited to pharmaceutical packaging. Candidates from broader industrial machinery environments will also be considered, particularly those with backgrounds in:

  • Packaging machinery
  • Manufacturing automation
  • Robotics
  • Process equipment
  • Food & beverage machinery
  • Medical device manufacturing equipment
  • Other complex capital equipment

The strongest candidates will be able to demonstrate direct experience managing spare parts, quotations, service engineers, customer orders and aftermarket activity rather than purely technical engineering experience.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an established international engineering business with a substantial installed equipment base and a clear focus on supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their machinery. You will have responsibility for a broad aftermarket remit across Germany, working with complex industrial equipment and a range of technical and commercial stakeholders.

The position offers scope to develop existing customer relationships while contributing directly to service, spare parts and upgrade revenue.
