As part of the establishment of a new division within the Networks department, we are looking for a
Head of Network Development Division 80-100%
Your Mission
In this role, you are responsible for the management and coordination of the strategic development of the Valais high-voltage network (HV). You take on the strategic asset management of this network, responsibility for coordinating network connections in the high-voltage sector, as well as contractual aspects.
Embedded within the Networks department, you ensure the leadership and further development of the division. You consistently align the division with strategic network development and the project portfolio. You plan and develop the necessary resources, actively promote the competence development of employees – especially in asset management – participate actively in the Networks Directorate, and support the department head directly.
You ensure close coordination with various stakeholders such as Swissgrid, Valgrid, distribution network operators, producers, industry partners, customers, and authorities. You steer the further development of the high-voltage network focusing on supply security and the integration of the required strategic capacities in the long term.
Your additional tasks include leading studies related to network development, monitoring connection applications, and managing connection and network usage contracts. Furthermore, you are responsible for managing contracts related to simple partnerships for key assets.
Your Profile
- Engineering degree ETH/FH in electrical engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification, ideally with an EMBA - At least 5–7 years of experience in the development and strategic asset management of power networks - Solid leadership experience - Experience in the high-voltage network sector is an advantage - Experience in managing multidisciplinary high-voltage projects - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Strong leadership competence and sense of responsibility - Organisational and planning skills (initiative, proactivity, forward-thinking) - Resilience, reliability, and flexibility - Native French or German speaker with very good knowledge of the other language (level C1) and very good English skills (level C1)
