Master the numbers of Switzerland’s most iconic castle and contribute to the sustainability of an exceptional historical heritage!
Are you looking for a versatile accountant position, with real responsibilities, in an extraordinary working environment? This position is made for you.
Chillon Castle, the most visited historical monument in Switzerland, welcomes around 400,000 visitors from around the world each year. Our mission: to inspire, entertain and share the richness of our history while preserving this exceptional site. To strengthen our administrative team, we are recruiting our future:
Accountant at 90% in Fixed-Term Contract
Your Responsibilities
Within our administrative team and under the direct responsibility of the General Director, you participate in all accounting and financial processes of the Foundation. You work in tandem with our experienced accountant, who has been part of the team for several years, ensuring a solid handover and continuous support. The activity rate, between 80 and 100%, varies according to the time of year (closures, budget): this flexibility is essential for the smooth running of the position.
General and Analytical Accounting
You manage the daily accounting: accounting entries, bank reconciliations, debtor/creditor invoicing and exports from our cash register systems (Smeetz, TCPos) to our ERP (Office Maker). You oversee monthly and annual closures, prepare closing entries and ensure analytical allocation by cost centre. You monitor cash flow and maintain relationships with banking partners.
Taxation and Compliance
You handle VAT declarations, entertainment tax declarations as well as the Foundation’s tax declaration — all within regulatory deadlines.
Budget Management and Reporting
You actively participate in the preparation of the annual budget, its consolidation and monitoring. You produce accurate monthly financial reports, analyse variances and KPI indicators, and contribute to the drafting of the Foundation’s annual report.
Support for Ticketing and Rentals Departments
You ensure invoicing, statistical monitoring and cash receipt closures in liaison with the managers of these two departments.
Your Profile
Education
Federal Certificate of Proficiency (CFC) as a commercial employee with a federal diploma in finance and accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree from a University of Applied Sciences in economics/business management.
Experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in full accounting in Switzerland (general accounting, analytical, debtors/creditors and payroll). Experience in the cultural, tourism sector or within a foundation is an asset.
Languages
Excellent command of written and spoken French (C2). English or German (B1) would be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Perfect mastery of financial accounting for a Foundation or SME (VAT, taxation, payroll, stock) - Comfortable with ERP/CRM tools and accounting software - Ability to produce clear and actionable financial reports for management - Project management: improving accounting processes and implementing new features, for example automation of entries
Personal Qualities
Rigor and a strong sense of discretion, analytical and synthetic thinking, ability to manage priorities, initiative, interpersonal ease and team spirit within a multicultural environment.
What We Offer
- Fixed-term contract from 14 September 2026 to 31 December 2027. This contract may be renewed at its end with a potentially lower rate (70%) - A unique working environment, in the heart of a world-renowned historical monument - A close-knit, committed team with a strong spirit of mutual support - A versatile role offering great autonomy and real responsibilities - The possibility to work from home one day per week - A salary commensurate with your skills and first-class social benefits - A position within a non-profit organisation committed to preserving exceptional heritage
