About Us

Operating at the intersection of retail and food service, our client supports the movement and sale of food products through commercially complex channels, customer groups and specialty operations.

This organisation’s scale creates a broad platform for applying disciplined pricing, revenue analytics and category insight to improve value for customers while strengthening financial performance.

Its environment calls for sophisticated commercial decision‑making that connects market conditions, cost dynamics and customer needs with practical pricing action.

With a diverse operating model and significant commercial reach, the organisation is positioned to develop revenue management capabilities that can be applied consistently across specialty businesses.

The work of this team will help translate data, technology and market intelligence into clearer decisions, stronger execution and sustainable margin performance.

Job Description

The Director, Revenue Management - Specialty Pricing will lead the strategic development and execution of pricing across selected specialty businesses in a complex retail and food service environment.

This role exists to improve how the organisation captures value, manages margin and responds to changing market, cost and customer conditions.

Success will require more than identifying pricing opportunities.

You will shape the commercial agenda, evaluate potential returns, establish practical implementation plans and ensure initiatives produce measurable financial outcomes.

The position combines enterprise-level strategy with hands‑on leadership of pricing programmes from initial analysis through adoption, governance and performance review.

Working across finance, merchandising, sales, technology, analytics and operating leadership, you will create alignment around priorities and clarify the decisions required to move initiatives forward.

Senior stakeholders will rely on your ability to present evidence, explain trade‑offs and recommend actions that balance customer value, revenue growth, margin improvement and operational feasibility.

Based in Houston, Texas, this is a high‑impact leadership position for an experienced pricing or revenue management professional who can operate confidently across business lines, build durable capabilities and turn complex analysis into commercial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the specialty pricing strategy and connect its priorities to revenue growth, margin improvement, customer value and broader business objectives.
  • Examine customer, category, market, cost and competitive data to identify opportunities, risks and performance gaps.
  • Build and prioritise pricing initiatives covering price architecture, value capture, cost recovery, promotional effectiveness and supporting technology.
  • Own the progression of major pricing programmes from opportunity sizing and business‑case development to implementation and post‑launch evaluation.
  • Define scorecards, financial measures and review routines that demonstrate realised value and distinguish lasting performance from temporary gains.
  • Develop a forward‑looking specialty pricing roadmap with finance, merchandising, technology, analytics, sales and operating leaders.
  • Translate complex quantitative findings into concise executive recommendations, clear choices, expected outcomes and practical next steps.
  • Lead cross‑functional workstreams by establishing milestones, resolving dependencies, managing risks and maintaining accountability for delivery.
  • Introduce effective governance, decision rights and operating processes that improve pricing consistency, speed and control.
  • Assess opportunities to apply optimisation, automation, advanced analytics and improved data infrastructure to revenue management.
  • Build stakeholder commitment across functions with different commercial priorities, ensuring pricing decisions are understood and implemented effectively.
  • Develop the organisation’s pricing maturity through repeatable tools, stronger capabilities, knowledge sharing and disciplined performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science or another relevant quantitative discipline.
  • Eight to ten years of progressive experience in pricing, revenue management, commercial strategy, finance, sales analytics, merchandising or a closely related field.
  • Experience developing and executing pricing strategies within retail, food service, distribution or another complex multi‑channel commercial environment.
  • Evidence of converting analysis into implemented initiatives that generated measurable revenue, margin or customer‑value improvement.
  • Strong command of financial modelling, forecasting, margin analysis, business‑case development and value realisation.
  • Advanced analytical judgement, including the ability to interrogate large data sets, isolate meaningful drivers and quantify commercial opportunity.
  • Advanced Excel capability and experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau; familiarity with SQL, Python or comparable analytical tools is beneficial.
  • Practical exposure to pricing platforms, optimisation methods, e‑commerce data, automation or other technologies that improve commercial decision‑making.
  • Ability to produce executive‑level materials that make findings, implications, recommendations and expected financial impact easy to understand.
  • Confidence communicating technical analysis to non‑technical audiences and securing agreement on significant commercial decisions.
  • Proven success leading cross‑functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders without relying solely on formal reporting lines.
  • Commercially minded problem‑solving skills, sound judgement and the resilience to manage competing priorities across a complex organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a persuasive and structured approach to presenting data‑driven stories.
  • Curiosity and adaptability when working with evolving data sources, systems, processes and business models.
  • An MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with e‑commerce data collection, pricing frameworks, revenue management systems or comparable digital capabilities is preferred.
  • Current authorisation to work in the United States is required.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation reflecting the strategic scope, seniority and enterprise impact of the position.
  • Direct exposure to senior decision‑makers through ownership of high‑priority specialty pricing strategy and recommendations.
  • Opportunity to influence revenue, margin and customer‑value outcomes across a varied retail and food service platform.
  • Access to cross‑functional expertise across finance, merchandising, sales, analytics, technology and specialty operations.
  • Scope to shape pricing governance, measurement standards, tools and operating practices that can scale beyond individual initiatives.
  • Professional development through complex transformation work, executive communication and leadership across multiple business areas.
  • Opportunity to apply advanced analytics and technology to practical commercial challenges with visible business consequences.
  • Houston‑based leadership role with broad organisational reach and the ability to build capabilities that support sustained performance.
  • Other

Houston, Texas, serves as the base for a role with substantial influence across specialty pricing and revenue management.

The strongest candidates will combine strategic perspective with delivery discipline, challenge assumptions constructively and maintain momentum from insight through implementation.

Experience from adjacent pricing, commercial strategy, revenue management or analytics environments may transfer well where it demonstrates strong financial understanding, stakeholder leadership and the ability to deliver results in a complex operating model.
