About Us
Our client supplies new and surplus equipment for industrial automation, maintenance, repair and operations, pneumatic, motion, electronic, hydraulic, HVAC and electrical control applications. Established in 1979 and headquartered in Willingboro, New Jersey, this organisation serves plant-floor and facilities-maintenance needs through an extensive product range and international retail operations.
The business operates in a technically complex retail environment where customers search for highly specific components, replacement equipment and maintenance solutions. Its large catalogue and international reach create substantial scope for data-led digital marketing, particularly across paid search activity that connects product demand with commercial outcomes.
Operating within industrial supply and home improvement and hardware retail, the organisation combines specialist product knowledge with the scale and pace of e-commerce. The role will contribute to strengthening visibility and revenue across a diverse portfolio while supporting the continued development of international digital trading.
Job Description
The Paid Search Analyst will analyse, optimise and develop paid search activity that generates profitable e-commerce growth across multiple markets. This role will turn campaign, product and commercial data into clear actions across bidding, targeting, feed quality, budget allocation and account structure.
Working across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Shopping and Performance Max, you will evaluate performance at campaign, product, market and channel level. The scope includes a substantial catalogue of industrial and maintenance products, requiring disciplined analysis of long-tail demand, product economics and changing customer behaviour.
Success will be measured through stronger traffic quality, increased revenue, improved return on ad spend and better consistency across international campaigns. You will work with commercial stakeholders in Europe and the wider paid media function in the United States, bringing market insight and analytical rigour to decisions that support both established and developing regions.
The position combines hands-on account management with continuous performance improvement. You will help identify underperforming areas, test practical solutions, strengthen measurement and contribute to a more scalable in-house paid search capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse paid search performance across European e-commerce websites and translate findings into prioritised optimisation actions.
- Manage and refine activity across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, including Shopping and Performance Max campaigns.
- Assess performance by market, product group, campaign type, device, audience and commercial objective.
- Optimise bids, budgets, targeting, search coverage, campaign structures and product segmentation to improve profitable growth.
- Evaluate product feed quality and identify catalogue, categorisation or data issues that restrict paid search visibility.
- Work with extensive product data and long-tail inventory to uncover demand opportunities and reduce inefficient spend.
- Monitor revenue, conversion, cost, margin-related indicators and return on ad spend against agreed performance objectives.
- Produce clear reporting and recommendations for commercial and sales leadership, making complex analysis accessible to decision-makers.
- Support campaign planning across different European languages, currencies, customer behaviours and trading conditions.
- Investigate performance differences between established markets and regions with further growth potential.
- Collaborate with the United States-based paid media function to align local insight with broader search strategy and standards.
- Review measurement, attribution and privacy considerations that may affect the accuracy of paid media reporting.
- Develop testing plans, document outcomes and apply successful learnings across relevant accounts and markets.
- Contribute to processes, governance and capability improvements that make international paid search more scalable and reliable.
Requirements
- At least five years of practical experience in paid search, pay-per-click marketing or a closely related performance marketing discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, with the confidence to manage analysis and optimisation directly within the platforms.
- Demonstrable experience with Google Shopping and Performance Max in a transactional e-commerce environment.
- A track record of using paid media to drive measurable revenue, conversion growth and return on ad spend.
- Experience supporting campaigns across several European countries, with an understanding that market performance cannot be managed through a single-market approach.
- Familiarity with differences in language, currency, customer intent, product demand and buying behaviour across international markets.
- Evidence of working with large or complex product catalogues, ideally including hundreds of thousands of stock-keeping units or comparable long-tail inventory.
- Advanced analytical capability, including the ability to interpret large volumes of campaign, product and commercial data.
- Strong commercial judgement when balancing growth, efficiency, budget control and product-level performance.
- Experience diagnosing account structure, feed, tracking or attribution issues and recommending practical corrective action.
- Confidence presenting findings, priorities and performance narratives to commercial, sales and marketing stakeholders.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and coordinating activity across different business functions.
- Exposure to paid search budgets of approximately £100,000 or more per month would be advantageous.
- Experience across markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Poland or the Netherlands would be valuable.
- Knowledge of European privacy requirements and their implications for measurement, consent and attribution would strengthen your application.
- Experience in industrial distribution, specialist retail, hardware, marketplaces or another catalogue-led e-commerce setting would be beneficial.
Benefits
- Ownership of paid search analysis and optimisation within a substantial international e-commerce operation.
- Direct exposure to complex product data, multi-market trading and commercially significant performance decisions.
- The opportunity to influence growth across both established European markets and regions with untapped potential.
- Close collaboration with commercial leadership and an experienced United States-based paid media function.
- Scope to shape campaign processes, measurement standards and the development of a stronger in-house capability.
- Practical experience across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Shopping, Performance Max and large-scale catalogue marketing.
- A role where analytical recommendations can produce visible effects on traffic quality, revenue and advertising efficiency.
- Professional development through exposure to international retail, technical products and cross-functional commercial priorities.
Other
This opportunity is suited to an analytical paid search professional who enjoys connecting detailed platform data with clear commercial outcomes. The strongest candidate will be comfortable questioning performance, investigating root causes and turning analysis into focused action rather than simply producing reports.
Experience from a catalogue-led retailer, industrial distributor, marketplace or specialist e-commerce business will translate well. Candidates who have worked across international markets and can balance local market insight with consistent global standards will be particularly well placed to make an impact.
The position is based in or connected with the Willingboro, New Jersey operation and involves collaboration across international stakeholders. Applications should demonstrate ownership of measurable paid search performance, practical optimisation experience and the ability to operate effectively in a complex product environment.
