Job Description In Switzerland (Valais Canton), we are looking for a Project Engineer (H/F) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate engineering projects from concept development through execution, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and performance objectives. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and external partners to deliver impactful industrial investment projects and process improvements.
Main responsibilities
Manage the planning and execution of small to medium-sized engineering and capital investment projects that directly support manufacturing operations and business objectives.
Develop engineering concepts and provide technical recommendations to stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and engineering assessments for new installations, plant modifications, and optimization initiatives.
Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, schedules, and resource plans while ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
Oversee detailed engineering activities and coordinate project execution to achieve expected functionality, cost, and timeline targets.
Identify, analyze, and compare alternative technical solutions, assessing benefits, risks, feasibility, and long-term operational impact.
Lead process engineering calculations and contribute to continuous improvement and plant optimization projects.
Support manufacturing changes, production capacity enhancements, and new product introduction activities.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering resources and external contractors to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.
Manage project stakeholders and maintain effective communication across departments and external service providers.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, engineering, and regulatory standards throughout project execution.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues while fostering collaboration within a matrix organization.
Required profile
Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related technical discipline.
3 to 10 years of professional experience in a GMP-regulated industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects with budgets typically ranging from CHF 10,000 to CHF 200,000.
Strong knowledge of engineering project management, process optimization, and industrial investment projects.
Proven ability to conduct technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and project planning activities.
Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, business processes, and financial considerations related to project delivery.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining a highly organized and structured approach.
Experience working within cross-functional and matrix organizations.
Fluent English and German, both written and spoken.
